Building 3 Auditorium - 11:00 AM
(Coffee at 10:30 AM)

NASA Cloud Services is an agency-wide program funded by the Office of the Chief Information Officer to bring cloud computing capabilities to NASA that will better serve its scientists and engineers. Ames Research Center and Goddard Space Flight Center have partnered to release a production-ready Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), powered by NebulaTM implementation by the end of FY10 that will offer on-demand compute power and storage through an enterprise solution. This project will allow scientists and engineers to focus more on mission successes and less on their computing infrastructure.

Myra Bambacus currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the Goddard Space Flight Center CIO for Cross Cutting Solutions. She is the Program Manager from GSFC helping to lead the Cloud Services Program through the current Infrastructure as a Service project, among other cutting edge projects. Myra also serves as the Project Manager for Climate@Home.

Ms. Bambacus has served in a variety of leadership positions including, NASA's Senior Agency Official for Geospatial Information, Executive Director for Geospatial One Stop (Acting), Program Manager for the Geosciences Interoperability and Digital Earth Offices; External Alliances Manager for the Technology Commercialization Office; Director of Program Integration in the Office of the Administrator, Chief Information Office (CIO); Deputy Director of NASA's Contract Management; acting Procurement Officer for the International Space Station; and Chair of the FGDC's Geospatial Applications and Interoperability Working Group. Ms. Bambacus' career has encompassed both the Department of Defense and NASA. Ms. Bambacus is a University of Maryland graduate of Political Science and Public Administration and a Senior Fellow in the Excellence in Government Fellows Program.
